A bit of a spin on the great city of North Bay in the province of Ontario –
Wide Bay – of North Bay
If you ever stand on the shores of Lake Nipissing in North Bay you will understand while I call it the Wide Bay of North Bay.
This massive lake is big, beautiful and pristine.
If you exclude the great lakes, Lake Nipissing is the 3rd largest lake in Ontario with only an average depth of 5 meters with it’s deepest point reaching around 50 meters. The lakes perimeter is approximately 1100 kilometers. Lake Nipissing flows down the French River out and into Georgian Bay. It sits around a mean elevation of 196 m above sea level. You can now see why I use the term Wide Bay, which it certainly is.
