We are currently raising money and appealing for donations or sponsorship to acquire the following items/services for our research, education and operational activities:

  • Water Quality Monitoring Probes, batteries, service contract and carry/storage case
  • Digital video camera, batteries and carry/storage case
  • Laptop computer with CD-ROM, modem and MS Windows and MS Office software
  • MS Access 2000 single user licence with upgrades for project office
  • Inspection and service for Amphibico underwater camera housing
  • Annual insurance policy for volunteers
  • Annual insurance policy for equipment
  • 10x50 binoculars for shore safety bin
  • Blank CD ROM’s for storing data and copying presentations, graphics, etc.
  • Phone cards/credits for 2 project officer mobile phones
  • Blank Hi-8 video tapes for underwater filming
  • Large used (but not-leaky) Esky for holding water quality sample bottles
  • A4 diving slates (bought or custom-made) for underwater data recording
  • Laminating for several A4 sized field identification sheets (fish, tide pool life, coral)
  • Waterproof paper for research and educational activities
  • Lead weights, various sizes, for diving and snorkeling
  • Re-usable ice blocks
  • Australian Express air freight vouchers for shipping samples for analysis
  • Pre-paid postage satchels for posting videos for analysis, proposals on deadline, etc.
  • Fuel vouchers to help pay for project officer fuel costs
  • Annual post box rental (Bargara)
  • General office/administration/computer consumables, including postage stamps

The Woongarra Marine Park Monitoring & Education Project is an initiative of the Australian Marine Conservation Society - Bundaberg & District Branch and is funded by Coastcare. In 2001, the WMPM&EP moved under the auspices of Central Queensland University where it has been granted reseach status.
