For example:

For the water based survey, as it is often hard to distinguish the number of people on board, you need only record the number of vessels / boats carrying out each activity.  For example: Diving 1 = one dive boat, Recreational Fishing 3 = three fishing boats etc.

Other information that you would like to add is your opportunity to record unusual happenings within the marine park.  For examples: large number of dead jellyfish on the beach or algal bloom with bad smell!  You can also record trawlers etc. in this section, try to approximate their distance from the shore if at all possible.

Completed surveys can then be returned to the address at the bottom of the form.  You may also send batches of surveys if you are a regular survey recorder or request a pick up.  Completed surveys may also be left marked for Sue Sargent, c/o Burnett Shire Council, 160 Hughes Road, Bargara.
